Title: 6.0 Earthquake in China
By News Desk | August 5, 2008
An earthquake, natures wrecking ball, shook China’s province of Sichuan on Tuesday evening around 6 p.m. As this 6.0 earthquake tore through the land it shook both buildings and people. Leaving crumpled buildings in its wake. People fled to the streets and watched as the buildings swayed.
While China has played host to many aftershocks in the resent months this earthquake, though mild compared to the devastating 7.9 May earthquake that killed 70,000 people, is the strongest to date. This tremor killed at least one person and seriously injuring 23 others.
The quake came only hours after the Olympic relay brought the torch to its rest stop before it reaches Beijing for the opening of the Olympic games on Friday in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan. As this area still continues to try to recover from the devastating aftermath of that May 2008 quake these aftershocks bring back the horror, reminding people what nature is capable of.
