Are Video Games fueling WAR?
By newsguy | July 28, 2008
People now are extremely worried about blood diamonds and why shouldn’t they? Blood diamonds fuel wars and are passed through so many hands that it is nearly impossible to figure out where they came from. This is why the Kimberly Process was set up. Put into effect in 2003 the KPCS is there to insure that diamonds are pulled from places with decent conditions and are not being used to fuel a war where children are brainwashed into fighting for the very faction that killed their families and ruined their lives. Blood diamonds still make there way onto your precious little rings and necklaces that you hold so dear but with this process in place it at least slows the traffic of these blood diamonds.
Before all of this information became available to the public you never would have expected your diamond rings might have been the cause of the death of several people. Well last night I read several articles on how there is a new way to fuel this and it is through the ores used to make Coltan, a metal that is used in electronics like your playstation. I think it is ridiculous and until I know for certain that games systems are not tainted with blood I will not be purchasing a ps3 or 360. I do not know very much about this and I urge all of you to get informed and if you have anything to add to this article please send me a message at guywithhats@yahoo.com

For a place that has no natural resources to speak of Africa has a lot of things people seem to want. To bad they don’t have iron or something like that.

Wow. This is a horrible industry, and I never would have thought so much horror could be caused by a diamond.
