Pumpkin Poem

3 little pumpkins sitting in a patch
Along comes Mr. Smalley with a big leather satch
“Off with your heads and into my case”
(Hoping he’d win at least 4th place)
But, not even a mention, a comment or view
Now the fair’s over and there’s nothing to do
Except carve out a grin, a wail or scare
And hope that next year, there’ll be more luck at the fair.
