Who’s Scared of the big ole Maco Shark?
By newsguy | October 17, 2007
I’m scared, that is for sure.
I’ve been a surfer, boater, swimmer, diver my whole life. I’ve swam in the oceans on virtually every continent, and there hasn’t been one time that I didn’t say a little prayer under my breath to protect me from these damn sharks.
They are everywhere around Florida. Rarely do I see a big one, but I see them almost every week.
Trained, cold, killers who no nothing more than to just rip and tear and swallow. No regard for your life, your friends, your arms and legs.
Now this guy catches a 800 pounder off the coast near my home. Sure, it was out in deep water. Sure I have a better chance of getting hit by lightning.
It doesn’t help with the fear.
I think I can honestly say, Sharks are the only things that really scare me - and with good reason.
They will hunt you down, chase you, and bite with the intent to kill. And there’s not a dang thing you’ll be able to do about it.
So, hats off to the good old Florida boys who hauled this one in and killed it. One less sea monster I have to worry about today.

Umm ok dude, do you go into the African Serengeti and sit by a pride of lions? I sure hope not. If you do, then you risk getting attacked and killed by them. But if you go into the ocean, guess whose domain that is? Yeah, a shark’s. They do not have intent to kill us. That is such a sterotypical, self absorbed human thing to think…

Wow, now I understand that this brute may look and appear dangerous but, honestly if u think about it really think about it sharks are about as dangerous as a horse fly, its humans that do the killing because of fears they have about a creature that was here first and look gruesome. It is man that is going into ocean with intent to kill not this Maco shark, this shark was just the poor hapless sap to be pinned a monster cause it was a successful hunter , no one has a right be it fear or stupidity to decide what or who lives and dies.
This is one persons fear effecting many people in a negative way, causing the death of a poor and magnificent and majestic creature…tisk tisk

That is so pigheaded of you. not to mention terribly written. you went into its world, risking being bitten. its animal cruelty to kill something because you fear it. that shark is beautiful and deserves life. try shoving some intelligence into that ignorant head of yours. God, are they even checking the material they put on here anymore?
